The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from Conway County Levee District No. 6 in cooperation with Conway County, Conway County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) and Central Arkansas Intermodal Authority (CAIA) to perform studies required for FEMA levee Accreditation and construct the Oppelo Bottoms Pump Station near Morrilton, Conway County, Arkansas.
Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties.
The project includes FEMA certification of the Conway County Levee District No. 6 levee system around the site known as the Oppelo Bottoms. Additional flood mitigation infrastructure will include construction of a pumping station near the southeast corner of the Oppelo Bottoms. The project will be located within the Oppelo Bottoms, which surrounds the intersection of State Highways 9 and 113 south of Morrilton. Project information is available for review at:
